Two weeks ago today, Missy and I went to a CRAFT PARTY at Lonna, Katy, and Laura's house. Dena brought over her DARIA dvds and some people brought unwanted clothes for a CLOTHING SWAP. Thurston the cat supervised while people crafted, snacked, and tried on clothes...
Cool TEEN ZINE poster that was hanging up on a wall...can't not love old school TYPWRITERS:

I brought the BUTTON PRESS so I could make "FREE PUSSY RIOT" and "SENSITIVE DUDE" one-inch buttons for everyone at the party:

Before we left the party, we promised that we would host the next "craft party"...on our way out, Missy couldn't resist pulling a few tricks on the TREE SWING in the backyard...

Snuggle Bunny Monday
Here is Jumbles and Oreo having a nice time. They really like this new little woven bunny bed that I got for them. At first Raoul said they are too big for the pet bed, but they have been into it the last week or so! Jumbles likes it more than Oreo does, but I did catch Oreo sitting in it, too.
Aw! Look how cute Jumbles looks in the little basket!

Exploding Plastic Inevitable
I'm still still STILL processing photos from last month's vacation in Pittsburgh and I feel like I need to finish that up before blogging about our weekend getaway to Los Angeles...but I digress. Last month, we spent the week of 4th of July doing some heavy sight-seeing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. No trip to Pittsburgh is complete without a stop at the ANDY WARHOL MUSEUM, and this time, it was the cherry on top of our vacation. On exhibit this time around were HUNDREDS of Andy Warhol's screen tests, movies, and television appearances. One room was filled with row after row of back-to-back TELEVISION SCREENS showing various programs and specials that featured Andy. Because it was so dark in the room, I was able to sneak a few photos from under the eyes of the watchful docents and security guards...
Another room was a labyrinth of MOVIE SCREENS showing some of Warhol's more infamous movies. We watched EDIE SEDGWICK smoke a cigarette while getting her hair cut by one of the many "FACTORY" regulars...
A LION from Warhol's TAXIDERMY collection:
Before we left, Missy got to SILKSCREEN her own souvenir T-SHIRT in one of the museum workshops. She chose to screen a couple of PINK TWIN POPS on to her shirt, in honor of summer. It was the sweet end to an all-too-short vacation...
