Snuggle Bunny Monday

Here is the funniest picture of all three of my pets together! I love this photo for so many reasons - look at Oreo and her pose! It makes me laugh so hard! Nilla is there and Jumbles is behind her, hanging out in his pan. They just all look so cute.

Our pets have been great, for the most part. Back in November our bunny, Jumbles, was diagnosed with a parasite. It is a terrible thing that rabbits can get this, but we caught it early and treated this. So we have been to the vet school so many times since November. I also hesitate to write about this, because the buns are doing really really good, but if you notice he is separated from Oreo in this photo. Poor Jum has been on and off medicine since November. In March he had a minor surgery, and his blood test levels were high for the parasite, so he has been on the treatment ever since. He will finally finish May 31! I am counting down the days!

Oreo was sick about two weeks ago, and now she is back to "herself." Rabbits are such different pets than a cat. So different - and we have learned lots since finding Oreo in 2009. I am happy to report she is doing great and is happy and healthy!

And for our cat Nilla, she is totally good and happy and healthy! Go Pets! this is where I sound like a crazy pet lady, but I love my pets so much. It is like Nacho Libre when he says "the children, they are my heart" about the orphans he cares for. I feel the same way - "the pets, they are my heart."

Nilla loves to hide in her box that we keep in the kitchen for her. She runs into the box when I try to brush her, but I took the opportunity to take some pictures of her!

Nilla Turns Nine

My beautiful kitty, Nilla, celebrated her adoption day yesterday (March 23). She turned nine! Nine! Can you imagine? I kept thinking she turned eight, but then I did the math and it was nine. Nilla, you will always be eight in my heart.


In celebration, we decided to get Nilla some nice wheat grass. She really enjoys wheat grass, and the bunnies do, too. Here she is enjoying her birthday treat.






Nilla also got some turkey dinner, and Raoul and I sung "Happy Birthday" to her. It was really amazing!




Cheers, Nilla! I love you so much! You are a good friend.

All the Pets

Nilla loves eating the bunny salad from their home. Nilla really likes to eat pretty much anything.


We always say Nilla is a gourmet kitty.

It only took her a couple of years, but NILLA finally figured out how to get on the very top of the bookcases in our craft room (and yes, that's a SQUIRREL wearing a dress).

Did I ever tell you that Nilla loves strawberries? She does. Here she is licking the top when I was packing my lunch for the day.


Nilla has liked strawberries ever since she was little. I found this out when I picked a bucket of strawberries and the local farm and when I set them down to go do something else, I forgot about them. Well, Nilla found them, was picking the berries by the stems out of the bucket, and then licking them with her rough tongue. So silly!


We always joke that Nilla is a gourmet cat!

Nilla is so silly. I got out my yoga mat the other evening, and as usual, here comes Nilla. She sat on it and did some yoga herself!

Nilla likes to sit by me when I have a snack. Here she is perched right next to me as I have some ice cream. Raoul had to distract her as I took a picture.




Sometimes I let Nilla lick the ice and water on the ice cream bowl!

Nilla likes to visit the bunnies home. She likes to eat their salad and drink from their water bowl. I guess their water tastes better than her own water bowl!
