Things are still moving at a snail's pace over here at POPGUN HQ and it's taking me forever to get the POPGUN RECORDINGS BLOG/WEBSITE up and running. But maybe things really will be picking up soon - I just sent off a handful of tapes to JIGSAW RECORDS, a brand new little "record shop" owned and operated by CHRIS MAC of INDIEPAGES fame. The store is set to open on March 13th this year, and I'm hoping to send even more tapes before that happens. They'll also have an on-line presence, so you can order awesome indie pop from anywhere in the world, if you're unable to visit the shop in person. I've pulled out the Popgun copy masters and revved up the ol' dual-cassette player...for more info on Jigsaw Records check HERE.

Weekend Wind-Down #27
Ay, yo...
so, I know that it seems like I hadn't really been blogging for the past couple of weeks, but in actuality, I've been hard at work creating another blog for my old cassette-only record label, POPGUN RECORDINGS...I say "old" because I've been running it since 1995. I took somewhat of a little break from the label when I moved from California to Georgia in late 2005, filling out a few sporadic orders that happened to find their way to me. But now, I feel like I'm settled down enough to start things up again in earnest. Partly, due to popular demand, and also, due to a new found enthusiasm in myself...and afterall, I have a goal that I need to accomplish.
Anyways, putting together a new blog-slash-website is imperative because the OLD WEBSITE has been around for over 10 years now and it's waaaaay past time for an update. Hopefully, the NEW WEBSITE will have more EVERYTHING, as well as being a bit interactive by way of allowing fans and artists alike to leave feedback/comments about specific releases, photos, news, etc...The blog is far from finished - so far, I managed to get images of all the current Popgun releases up on the site, along with a few photos from the archives, and I managed to play around with the layout a bit. You can see the work in progress HERE if you're interested. Nilla helped me cut, fold, photograph and stuff a stack of freshly xeroxed covers...
Missy is still in Seattle with Terri and they are having a ball...they will return on tuesday, and Missy will no doubt have a buncha fun images to share with us all. So for this Weekend Wind-Down, I'm flying solo. Last weekend, we were at the University of Georgia's botanical gardens, taking advantage of a sale of exotic plants they were having:
