Weekend Wind-Down #141

We went to another MFA EXIT SHOW at the University of Georgia here in Athens, this past Friday and were thoroughly impressed with what we saw. We looked at art, had some nibbles, hung out with friends, and snapped off a few photos...The giant MEGAPHONE THING above had a tiny speaker attached to the end of it which emitted "industrial noise" intermittently...it was surprisingly loud...





Another SOUND INSTALLATION...there were faint STREET TRAFFIC NOISES coming out of each speaker:



This tank had an AUTOMATED SHOWER HEAD that moved back and forth across the top, showering MOTOR OIL over a tray of CERAMIC (maybe plastic) SPHERES:





We thought this MUSTACHE-MONOCLE combo was pretty cool:

We joked that this was another art installation, but it was just ice from the open bar dumped out on the walkway at the end of the night...



FAVORITE MOMENT OF THE PAST WEEK?
MISSY - Finding out that Jumbles is okay after getting the results of his biopsy back!
RAOUL - Jumbles getting a clean bill of health.

WORST MOMENT OF THE PAST WEEK?
MISSY - Worrying if Jumbles was okay.
RAOUL - 6am meeting on Friday.

FUNNIEST MOMENT OF THE PAST WEEK?
MISSY - Talking to that drunk guy at the art show was pretty wacky.
RAOUL - That drunk guy playing with Gary's hair was pretty funny...until he started throwing empty water bottles down the stairs at the exit show.

WORD OR PHRASE OF THE PAST WEEK?
MISSY - "There's another installation outside...oh wait...that's just the barbeque pit"
RAOUL - "Bean Ballet"

FAVORITE MEAL OF THE PAST WEEK?
MISSY - The roasted veggies that I made.
RAOUL - The roasted veggies that Missy made.
