Weekend Wind-Down #106

We stopped in at OHH, BOY! yesterday and found this vintage ceramic MUSHROOM-SHAPED CLOCK. For a while now, we've been looking for the perfect clock to cover up this hole in the space above the window and sink in our kitchen. We thought that maybe a CUCKOO CLOCK might do the trick, but we could never decide or commit to a particular clock...



The ceramic mushroom clock just happens to be a perfect fit...for the hole, for sure, but also because it fits in with the "cottage" style of our kitchen cabinets. The clock is vintage 70's - made in Japan - and is just kitschy enough without going overboard. And besides, we have a soft spot for mushroom decor. The original clock mechanism was replaced with a newer one already, so all we had to do was change out the used-up AA battery. The only thing wrong with the clock is the second hand - it had been busted off. No biggie...the clock has been keeping perfect time so far...



FAVORITE MOMENT OF THE PAST WEEK?
MISSY - Spending time with my family in Pittsburgh and having days off from work.
RAOUL - Hanging out in Pittsburgh doin' next to nothing.

WORST MOMENT OF THE PAST WEEK?
MISSY - So hot outside!
RAOUL - Coming back from vacation...I could've used 3 or 4 more days!

FUNNIEST MOMENT OF THE PAST WEEK?
MISSY - Going to King's with Jordan!
RAOUL - Hanging out with Jordan at King's, in Pittsburgh. Laugh riot.

WORD OR PHRASE OF THE PAST WEEK?
MISSY - "BULLCRAP!"
RAOUL - "Dippy eggs"

FAVORITE MEAL OF THE PAST WEEK?
MISSY - I like the rice dish mom made for us...
RAOUL - Missy's Mom's rice pilaf dish was delish.

THREE THINGS ON YOUR TO DO LIST FOR THIS WEEK?
MISSY - Add more items to my Etsy shop, clean up the table, and call my family.
RAOUL - Call my insurance company, clean up the Super Dorm, see if the paint remover works in the hallway bathroom.

FAVORITE WAY TO WASTE TIME AT HOME?
MISSY - Playing Doodle Jump!
RAOUL - Watching movies.

PERSONAL RESOLUTION FOR THIS WEEK?
MISSY - Be better about washing and putting away my clothes.
RAOUL - Spend less time on the internets.
