Weekend Wind-Down #112

Last Friday, Missy took OREO back to the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia. Oreo had been messing with the STITCHES on her belly, and it looked a little bleedy. Fortunately, it just looked much worse than it actually was and Oreo came back home sporting a plastic COLLAR around her little head, to prevent her from chewing at her wound. Well, the "funnel" didn't stay around her neck that long - she was having trouble eating with it on and...she looked pretty ridiculous. We could tell that it was messing with her self-esteem! So, after just a day of humiliation, we took it off of her...and luckily, she hasn't been messing much with her stitches ever since...



FAVORITE MOMENT OF THE PAST WEEK?
MISSY: Bringing Oreo back home from the vet and having her test results come back clear!
RAOUL: Oreo's test results confirming that the growths the vet took out of her were non-threatening.

WORST MOMENT OF THE PAST WEEK?
MISSY: Worrying that Oreo popped her stitches.
RAOUL: Missy worrying about Oreo's test results.

FUNNIEST MOMENT OF THE PAST WEEK?
MISSY: When Oreo grunted at me when I tried to remove her collar.
RAOUL: Poor Oreo wearing that lamp shade around her neck.

WORD OR PHRASE OF THE PAST WEEK?
MISSY: "Healthy bun"
RAOUL: "Carbuncle"

FAVORITE MEAL OF THE PAST WEEK?
MISSY: I liked the tempeh we made with the coconut rice.
RAOUL: Tempeh in indian simmer sauce over coconut rice.

THREE THINGS ON YOUR TO-DO LIST FOR NEXT WEEK?
MISSY: Pack up orders, draw my comic, clean up the pets' homes.
RAOUL: Clean house, hang up some art, pick up my sister at the airport.

NEXT HOME IMPROVEMENT PROJECT YOU ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO?
MISSY: More painting and adding track lighting to the hallway.
RAOUL: Installing new lighting fixture in our dining area.

MAIN REASON YOU THINK WE HAVEN'T DONE A WEEKEND WIND-DOWN IN A WHILE?
MISSY: We've been busy.
RAOUL: Slackness.
