About a week ago, we got a package from Jeff Boller of THE SIMPLE CARNIVAL...we got a t-shirt and a couple copies of his new CD e.p., "Me and My Arrow". We were excited to get the package because Jeff had commissioned artwork from Missy for the CD and other band merchandise. We were eager to see (and hear) the finished product...plus, we're fans of THE POINT, the animated movie featuring the music of Harry Nilsson, including the song "Me and My Arrow", which Jeff covered on the CD. Anyways, thanks for the hook-up, Jeff!
Today, we were still feeling too lazy to cook, so we once again headed out to RU-SAN's...that's twice in one week! What can we say - it's great food at an awesome price:
Afterwards, we headed out to EARTH FARE to stock up on some groceries:
(Missy trying to make a decision in front of a wall of snack dispensers)
(a nicely decorated box for used tissues in the make-up aisle)
(we really liked this cute packaging for these children's toothbrushes)
Missy really liked the artwork on the package of this chocolate bar, so she bought it. It's got a line drawing of a cat filled-in with a photo image of cat fur. Cool idea...I told Missy that I would like her to do something similar, utilizing her line art and a photo of Nilla's hair. I was thinking that we could use the image for the header of our blog, if it turned out cool. I made Missy a really really rough mock-up of what I had in mind:
Missy finished up some new "tissue pals" - they're for little packets of kleenex, kinda like a little pouch that opens in the back. When you stick in a pack of tissues, the pal becomes a stuffed plush head:
Then, Missy decided it was time to finally clean "Nilla's recliner"...we have this really nice and comfortable bent-wood recliner that we got from IKEA that Nilla loves to curl up in. As a result, a thick blanket of hair had built up on it and the accompanying foot stool. Missy's mom told her a trick that easily gets cat hair out of fabric...first, you put on a RUBBER GLOVE...then, you get the glove a little wet...finally, you rub the fabric with your gloved hand, balling up and lifting cat hair as you go. As you can see in the photos, it works like a charm! In the meantime, Nilla had to make do with sitting on the floor until Missy was done cleaning her chair:
...we took the third of four Typhoid pills tonight...one more pill on Sunday and we should be protected for the next five years...

That's the second picture I've seen where Nilla has her paw there! It looks like she's really "making do" on the floor! *cheesy smile*
yeah, Nilla likes to sit like that...it's weird. I mean, she'll just sit there relaxing like that. Usually, it starts off with her grooming herself, but eventually she just gets into her "chillax mode"
ohmygosh you guys! that chocolate bar is from a seattle-based company!!!
Lucky you! Missy hasn't unwrapped it yet..the packaging is too pretty. Plus, we're still working on our chocolate easter bunny!
OMG I love Nilla. She looks like my Sarge. Missy, I love yr blog. I'm gonna friend you right now on mine.
