A roar of excitement came from the crowd when the sound of a helicopter was heard...it was like Santa Claus was coming to town...it was pretty awesome to feed off that excitement...we couldn't help but cheer ourselves!
When the helicopter came it just kept getting lower and lower and lower...the helicopter got so low that I'm sure there must've been a Vietnam vet or two in the crowd having a seriously effed-up flashback...seriously, the helicopter couldn't have been more than 25-30 feet from the ground...in the middle of 4000 people, no less. Talk about dangerous! The helicopter flew back and forth between the different sections of the field, depositing plastic eggs...
...as soon as the helicopter left, they blew the horn for the hunt to begin...it took us over an hour just to get onto the fields, and the helicopter was probably there for a good 15 minutes...and the actual egg hunt itself was over in less than a minute...
We weren't eligible to win any prizes, but if Missy did happen to find a winning egg, this is what her reaction would have looked like:
Afterwards, we headed off to run some errands...and decided to go to our favorite cheap-o sushi restaurant, Ru-San's, to take advantage of their lunch specials:
