Last Friday night we headed down to the CALEDONIA to see our friends, THE POISON CONTROL CENTER, perform. They totally blew up the club with their energetic and acrobatic showmanship. They turned out to be one of our most favorite moments of Popfest.
Patrick performed one of his signature moves - doing the SPLITS while playing a guitar solo:
After seeing Poison Control Center, we had a little snack break at CLOCKED with our friends before heading into the 40 WATT...the club was so crowded we were forced to watch the bands from the very back. Needless to say, it was tough to take good photos. I took a bunch of photos before calling it a night, but only a few of Japanese band ELEKIBASS and local supergroup CIRCULATORY SYSTEM were barely decent enough to download and share. Maybe by the next Popfest I'll have a better camera?
The next day, after an afternoon excursion to Atlanta, Missy, Leia, and I made it back to town just in time to attend the free JAMAICAN BARBECUE at the CHASE STREET WAREHOUSES, hosted by local merch masters TRANSMISSION. The BBQ was spicy, the air was smokey, the DJ was impeccable, and the vibe was pure awesome...
After the BBQ, we headed home to shower and change...we were hot, sweaty, and smelled of smoke. We were also really tired, and decided to take a short NAP before heading out...we woke up only to find out that it was after midnight, and pretty much the rest of Popfest was over with...whoops!
