Bird Flew

We have a couple of new tenants here at RANCHO COCOA (the house, not the blog)...yesterday morning we noticed that a couple of CAROLINA WRENS figured out a way to fly in and out of our enclosed patio and built a nest in a hanging basket. Missy managed to photograph one of the birds and I was able to take some fuzzy video of the birds working in tandem to build their nest...

The nest looks a bit like a little cave, with the back of the nest built up high to shade them from the late afternoon sun...a little scarecrow stands guard...

The birds took turns building the one bird flies off to collect more twigs, dead leaves, and straw, the other one would arrive with more building materials...
