Weekend Wind-Down #19

SUPER DORM 9214
(Pontikis hangin' out on my desk space in the "Super Dorm")

Good evening, everyone. Just wanted to let you know that we recently added two more friends to our little list on the right-hand side of this here blog: BLOGGIN' ON THE ETC and NERDBOMBER. ETC are the initials of one Ernessa T. Carter - Los Angeles-based novelist, screenwriter, playwright, roller derby gal, and fan of Yelle (yay!) - who also just happens to be an old friend of Missy's from Pittsburgh. We recently discovered each others' blogs and Ernessa gave us a nice shout-out, so we're hollering back (holla back, girl!)...she's got an interesting perspective on interesting things and it's well worth it to check out what goes on in her mind from time to time...ya might just learn something new. You can check out Miss ETC's thoughts HERE.

NERDBOMBER crafts up some super cute stuff which she sells through her ETSY SHOP and, like us, she keeps a blog on Blogger. She recently reviewed some zines she bought from Missy and we couldn't be more appreciative of her insightful critique (thank you!). Check out the Nerdbomber blog HERE for more info about her crafts and how to get them on-line...

Lastly, we added two new names to the Rancho Cocoa lexicon...Missy re-christened the TOOT SUITE (my bedroom slash office) as the SUPER DORM, on account of the dorm-style furniture and decor that I've recently taken to an extreme (more on that later)...and, I've given RANCHO COCOA (the house) a new nickname: "S'MOREHOUSE". It's a play on MOREHOUSE COLLEGE and S'MORES. The mixed-up exterior of our ranch-style home looks more like a s'more than anything else. The facade is a funny mash-up of wood, stone, and brick. Also lastly, I didn't know how to display my inflatable shoe, so for right now it's balanced between my Chairman Mao statuette and Seattle Space Needle ceramic vase:
