Kool Things

TOKIDOKI 9173

Got some "kool things" here at The Ranch lately...like this inflatable version of a sneaker designed by TOKIDOKI for Japanese sports brand, ONITSUKA TIGER. The inflatable sneaker (which looks much cooler than the real shoe) came with the latest issue of METRO POP. Needless to say, we love us some Tokidoki:

We also got in issues of YOU DON'T GET THERE FROM HERE and WRAP YOUR TROUBLES IN DREAMS..."Here" is a comic/journal that is hard to put down and "Dreams" is a indiepop music fanzine...Missy was interviewed for the upcoming issue #3 of Wrap Your Troubles In Dreams! Both zines get a million "thumbs up":

I also finally got a couple of sheets of these way cool CHARLES AND RAY EAMES stamps from the United States Postal Service...I'm not really a stamp collector, but I could not say no to these babies. They're now sitting comfortably with my sheets of Star Wars stamps in a glassine envelope:

EAMES 9096

Lastly, we got this totally awesome postcard from PANAMA, sent to us from our globetrotting friend Peter (thanks for thinking of us, Peter, wherever you are!):

I'm now realizing that what I thought was a random bunch of images and things actually has some sort of theme...

I've never seen the video for that song. It's out of hand!

I KNOW! Totally off the chain. I always thought the Chuck D cameo was weird and funny...WORD UP.

the latest Readymade magazine has a project for stamps. You find magnetic strips with one adhesive side (like for those magnet business cards I guess), peel off the paper, stick your stamp on, trim the magnet, then hodge podge it if you'd like...voila! stamp magnets. so maybe you should start buying 2 sheets of stamps..one to save and one to magnetify!

Oh, but I DID buy two sheets of stamps...one to use as a sheet of stickers and one to covet. Although, I might have to make them into fridge magnets. I did take a stack of magnetic business cards from Ice Cream Club a long time ago and I've been using those to make my own magnets. I have a bunch at work that I'll paste images on...I usually stick them up in Missy's cubicle somewhere...

I've just been using my Eames stamps for banal things like bills! I should probably save some too.
Still can't get over that inflatable tokidoki O.T. shoe...what are you going to do with it? I'd suggest hang from monofillament over your cubicle...

SARA - yup! I'm all set! It's either fridge magnets, which I'm liking because it's totally functional, or else decorate my laptop or old cigar box with them or something...not sure. I'll keep ya posted.

JULIE - right now the sneaker is perched between and on top of my statue of Chairmen Mao and my Seattle Space Needle ceramic vase...I'll have to take a picture of it...

Can I tell you that Kool Thing is one of my favorite songs of all time? Thanks for posting it. And BTW, I'm already way in love with this blog and want everything I've seen, including the Tofu plush babies and the inflatable sneaker.

I mean are you going to liberate us girls from male white corporate oppression?

Hi Ernessa! (or shall we call you "Kid Vicious"?) Thanks for the complements on our blog...so glad that you dig "Kool Thing" - the song AND the video - as much as we do. We're adding your blog to our friends list. Hope that's O.K.!
