Weekend Wind-Down #28 - Double Whammy Edition

So, we skipped the WEEKEND WIND-DOWN last weekend due to all this birthday madness that has been happening lately. Tonight was no exception...Missy and I went to JO and ANDRE's place for a joint birthday party they were having for each other. Andre made a huge vat of vegetarian chili and Missy baked a bunch of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins for dessert...

The night before, I went over to Tim and Jenny and Blake and Sara's new place for a house show hosted by CAPTAIN #1:





A band from Massachusetts called THE ACCIDENT THAT ENDED THE WORLD also played...





An abbreviated version of the band BICYCLES AND GRAVEL played an abbreviated set to close out the night's festivities:



The friday night before that, FOLKLORE got back together for a special one-off show at FARM 255. Jimmy was back in town to practice and then eventually tour with ELF POWER and VIC CHESTNUT. While he was back in town, we managed to record a bunch of new Folklore songs and put together a last-minute performance:



And then, last weekend, Terri and Beth invited Missy and I to a special birthday party they held in honor of actor ZAC EFRON, who turned 21 on October 18th (the night before my own birthday):





We celebrated by watching the first two HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL movies, back-to-back...Zac plays the main character in the movie, the captain of the school basketball team, TROY BOLTON...

I ended up getting some serious heartburn the following day (my birthday!) from overindulging at the Zac party. Ugh...

RAOUL - My birthday, of course...even though I got sick!

MISSY - Not seeing Raoul so much on his birthday because he was in bed sick.
RAOUL - I got terrible heartburn on my birthday...

MISSY - Crumpets...and Andre's chili was really good.
RAOUL - Pumpkin chocolate chip muffins and Andre's chili. OMG.

PERSONAL RESOLUTION FOR THE NEXT WEEK?
MISSY - Get more crafts done.
RAOUL - Budget my time better.

THREE THINGS YOU FORGOT TO BUY AT THE GROCERY THIS PAST WEEK?
MISSY - I don't think I forgot anything.
RAOUL - Burritos, fake chicken patties, yogurt.

WHAT WAS YOUR BEST HALLOWEEN COSTUME EVER?
MISSY - The Hello Kitty costume I sewed...and the bread costumes were good too.
RAOUL - The time I dressed up as my "Friendster Profile"

WHAT WAS YOUR WORST HALLOWEEN COSTUME EVER?
MISSY - I was a "hobo" one year.
RAOUL - I think my worst one was also a "hobo".

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE HALLOWEEN CANDY?
MISSY - Peanut Butter Cups, Peppermint Patties.
RAOUL - Nerds, Smarties.

WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE HALLOWEEN CANDY?
MISSY - Mounds.
RAOUL - Licorice.

IF YOU COULD INVENT A WILLY WONKA-STYLE CANDY, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
MISSY - A plant that would grow chocolate fruit.
RAOUL - Caffeinated Nerds.
