Next to the little chapel made of glass bottles was this little shed guarded by beloved Mexican TV characters EL CHAVO DEL OCHO and superhero EL CHAPULIN. As a kid I would always run across these characters on the spanish language channels while trying to find something interesting to watch...while I might've not understood everything they were saying, I was still able to get the humor...

One of my favorite figures was this one made out of discarded PLASTIC TOYS. He towered over everyone clutching and empty BOTTLE OF VODKA...

The creepy figure next to it had a torso made up of discarded BARBIE DOLLS...

A different kind of POOH BEAR (yeah, I went there...)

VAYCAY 9503

Missy, still cracking' up about my Pooh Bear joke...

VAYCAY 9511

The statue of DAVID, only you pronounce it "dah-VID"...

They had this MOSAIC FREEWAY in one of the courtyards with HOTWHEELS AND MATCHBOX cars paved into the cement. They even had the iconic posts with the iconic BELL TOWER, which is the symbol of Riverside, lining the street...

A line of DISNEY characters paved into the walkway...oh, and I *just* noticed that MILLENIUM FALCON! Wish I took a better photo of that...

VAYCAY 9526

VAYCAY 9527

VAYCAY 9532

These sculptures of a woman and man were actually fountains with water flowing out of their, ahem, "EROGENOUS ZONES"...

VAYCAY 9529

More of that heavy duty Catholic vibe...

VAYCAY 9530

VAYCAY 9531

VAYCAY 9534

VAYCAY 9533

A WICKED WITCH made out of BEER CANS and KEGS...

VAYCAY 9535

VAYCAY 9538

There was this CART that was being pulled by HUMANS, while the HORSES enjoyed being the drivers for a change...

VAYCAY 9537

VAYCAY 9539

VAYCAY 9540

This was the beginning of another huge figure being built around the trunk of a giant palm tree. So far, they only had the legs and bottom half done, with this strange HEAD protruding from the crotch. The BOWTIE was actually a PILLOW, cinched in the middle...

VAYCAY 9541

VAYCAY 9542

The kids and Missy crammed themselves into this little tiled GAZEBO...

We tried going into their little GIFT SHOP, but unfortunately, it was closed...

What a wondrous place! Have to go there someday. I love making art sculptures out of discarded dolls and toys too and have a whole weird closet full of supplies!! FUN

It's amazing what you can do with some chicken wire, some old toys, and tons of patience! This place really was incredible...the photos don't do it justice. Can't wait to go back next year to see how much more they added to the garden.
